Design engineers who work with metal are often faced with the need to compromise a product's performance because of a particular metal's limits. And though "cladding" - the combining of different metals to achieve new characteristics - has been around since the early days of sword making, engineers aren't especially savvy about clad metals. This 20-page "Clad It" brochure (cover and first spread) was created by me and one of my favorite art directors to reintroduce design engineers to the "clad"concept, and to inform them about the manufacturing process, application and benefits.
I knew we had a hit when a new manager, recently hired from a Detroit auto company, confided that he'd devoured the brochure at home to get up to speed for his new job. |
